Educated in St. George’s School, Rome and St. Mary’s International School, Tokyo
(1964~1974) and graduated from Tri–Chandra Multiple Campus, Kathmandu in Physics
and Mathematics, Bibhu has 26 years of experience in the travel and tourism business
starting from Adventure Travel Nepal, Tiger Tops Mountain Travel Group (1982~1987)
as a Senior Tour Executive, later joined Basanta Mishra’s team to establish, promote
and manage the Temple Tiger Group of Companies (1987~1990) as the General Manager
and in September 1990 founded Himalayan Holidays with Anil Parajuli, the founder
of Himalayan Healthcare, Nepal.
Being an aggressive worker, Bibhu’s experience includes a very detailed in – depth
knowledge of the operation of Adventure Tours, Treks and Expeditions in Nepal, Tibet,
Bhutan and India along with Cultural Tours, River Rafting in major rivers of Nepal,
Bhutan and northwestern India and the management of Wildlife Resorts in Nepal. Working
experience includes marketing, sales promotion, public relations, administration
and operations. Successful implementation of tours, treks, wildlife safaris and
rafting trips for the blind and physically challenged as well as the elderly and
sedentary clients besides operating various standard and deluxe group tours of people
from various countries of the world, has been his priority.
Bibhu has led treks and tours into the Annapurna, Mustang, Ganesh Himal, Langtang
and Everest regions and has conducted study tours and workshops for the visually
impaired and physically challenged clients in Nepal, Bhutan and India. Bibhu has
been instrumental in securing Recruitment orders for aspiring Nepalese Candidates
from world famous organization as PWC Logistics (now Agility Logistics – since 2003)
for Kuwait, Dubai, Oman, Abu Dhabi and Qatar as well as organizations as Global
Shipping & Logistics (Al Shirawi Group), SWIFT Freight, Al Rai Logistica, Sleep
Well, Boss Group, etc.
Bibhu has traveled around the world including various parts of the United States,
Europe, South and Southeast Asia, Far East, the Middle East, etc., on his sales
mission as well as personal holiday trips. Fluent in English, Japanese, Hindi and
Nepali Languages, he is also a member of Rotary International and is an active member
of the Rotary Club of Lalitpur (is the former International Services Avenue Director
(2002/03) of the Club) and has successfully implemented several matching grant projects
in support of Himalayan Healthcare, Inc., and the Ilam Hospital through Rotary International
amounting to about a half a million US Dollars during the period 2001 till 2007.
Also a general member of Nepal Mountaineering Association, he was the former Treasurer
of the Trekking Agents Association of Nepal (TAAN) (2001 /2003) during which he
was instrumental in foundation laying and construction of TAAN’s own office building.
Bibhu is also a member of the Nepal Mountaineering Association’s International Mountaineer’s
Memorial Park committee (2005 /07) and is active in supporting New Youth Children’s
Development Society orphanage towards its humanitarian works through “MISSION HIMALAYA”
a non-profit non-Governmental organization committed to the progress and well being
of the rural poor and helpless women, children and elderly citizens of the rural
Himalayan villages and farmlands. An ardent worshipper of nature, Bibhu loves to
read, write, sketch, cook, go outdoor, trek, hike, and raft and go on safari trips
besides traveling to foreign lands and most of all meeting people and socializing.
