Daniel A. Bennett
President, The Explorers Club, USA
Daniel A. Bennett (Dan), a naiilye of San Antonio, Texas was elected the 36 president of The Explorers Club in March 2006. The Explorers Club - Promoring Exploration and Field Sciences Since 1904, is an international multidisciplinary professional society dedicated to the advancement of field research. Founded in New York City in 1904 A.D. Dan was the founder and CEO of Sunbelt Sportswear and DAB Real Estate Ltd., based in San Antonio and currently serves as treasurer of ACCION USA, the largest non—profit micro-enterprise lender in the US. We believe that Dan’s hard work and honest means have been rewarded. Himalayan Holidays salutes and wishes him the best for the success of his new tenure.
Faruk Pekin
Graduated from Chemical Engineer Department
American Robert College (1964-1969)
Worked as a journalist and trade-union trainer for many years. Established FEST TRAVEL in 1985.Hc created more than 80 daily tours for Istanbul and more than 60 genuine tours for Anatolia. He traveled a lot around the world and guided many tours. He is still guiding tours in Spain, Scandic countries, Czech Republic, Hungary; Russia, Egypt, Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, Bolivia, Cuba, Alaska, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, India, Myanmar, Thailand, Bhutan, Tibet, Iran without local guides. Currently is the president of The Development of Cultural Awareness in Turkey. He wrote many articles about tourism and touristical places and a book "Cappadocia:Poetry in Rocks" published both in English and Turkish.
Sharad (Anil) Parajuli

"we carry out income generation schemes that enhance individual entrepreneurial initiative and community responsibility" says Sharad Parajuli(Anil), coordinator and founder member of Himalayan Healthcare Inc.(an international non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in 1992 AD) who was named as one of the top fifty personalities in Nepal by the "The Boss” magazine in October 2004. "'l`his is sometliing that we are doing for the people and by the people." In these days when poverty is one major challenge to the society Sharad Parajuli's interest and dedication in working for the social benefit is vitally important. Sharad Parajuli(Anil) helped to establish Himalayan Holidays in 1990 AD and introduced a new chapter in the history of Nepal’s Tourism by operating Medical Treks & Expeditions for volunteer medical doctors and nurses from around the world personally taking them to the remostest corners of the Hi.malayan Kingdom of Nepal to cater the poor and needy.. Declared an "Ashoka Fellow" in 2001 A.D as recognition for his work with Himalayan HealthCare, Sharad Parajuli is well known for his altruistic dedication and commitment towards the rural community of Nepal. Himalayan Holidays salutes Sharad Parajuli (Anil) for his noble humanitarian dedication.
Catherine Nixon Cooke
The former President and CEO of The Mountain Institute, an international non-profit organization with headquarters in Washington, DC, and 8 field offices in the Andes, the Himalayas, and Appalachia. She oversaw a worldwide staff team that includes anthropologists, archaeologists, forestry experts, geographers, hydrologists, and enterprise specialists. Conservation, cultural preservation, and economic development projects currently operate in Peru, Ecuador, India, Nepal, Tibet Autonomous Region of China, and the United States. Her book, Tom Slick Mystery Hunter, published by Paraview Press in November, 2005, documenting the extraordinary life of the oil tycoom/philanthropist who established Eve scientific research institutes, developed new species of cattle and grasses, invented the Liftslab method of construction, wrote two books about world peace, and searched for the yeti in the Himalayas before his death in 1962. Himalayan Holidays saulutes Ms Catherine Cooke for her greate contribution in putting Nepal back on the map of Crypto—Zoological Research Studies. Although the legend of the Yeti still remains a legend Catherine's book is being considered for Hollywood feature film with Nicholas Cage as the lead actor.
Haruko Sugahara
Traveled over 60 times to Nepal since 1988,she has trekked and traveled all over Nepal including Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Everest and Makalu regions, in 0ther w0rds "The Length and Breadth of the country". She has also traveled to India, Bhutan, Darjeeling, Sikkim and Tibet. Ms Sugaham has organized and escorted countless groups of Blind and Physically challanged clients from japan to various countries of the world, especially to Nepal. It is amazing that at 71 years of age she has trekked and traveled to places where normal tourists would dare to go! She has also traveled to all the continents of the world und has decided to make Nepal her second home!
Ajeet Bajaj
Ajeet Bajaj has been associated with adventure tourism for more than 20 years is the Founder uml CHO of Snow Leopard Adventures Pvt. Ltd in India. Mr. Bajaj is the first Indian to go to North and South Poles and has also rafted some of the most challenging rivers in six continents of the world. Himalayan Holidays salutes Mr. Ajeet Bajaj for his expedition appealed to his spirit of adventure and exploration as it was both physically and mentally challenging.
Scott Hamilton
Past Director and Officer of The Explorers Club. He has led and participated in a wide variety of expeditions in many areas of the world. Working exclusively with Himalayan Holidays in Nepal for logistical support and local expedition arrangements, he was the Expedition Director of the 1998 Everest Extreme Expedition, a project of Yale University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the NASA Commercial Space Center for Medical Informatics and Technology Applications. Scott organized and was Leader of 1999 Everest Extreme Expedition, biomonitoring and telemedicine research for NASA for potential use on the Space Shuttle and the Manned Mission to Mars. This was one of the largest and most logistically complex research expedition undertaken In 2006 he organized and led The Mt. Everest High Altitude Research Expedition in, a joint project of The Explorers Club and USARIEM using advanced hiomonitors to developing predictive models for acute mountain sickness. He has also participated in and organized medical projects in very remote mountain villages in both the Ganesh Himal and Rolwaling Himal regions of Nepal, and also for an orphanage on the outskirts of Kathmandu.
