Itinerary
Day 01: Drive to Trishuli Bazaar and Start rafting from Devi Ghat.
After breakfast, get in to a waiting vehicle and start drive to Devi Ghat via Pasang Lahmu Highway (75 kms / 4 hours). En route mountain views of the Himalayas are possible if the weather permits. After arrival at rafting put in point at Devi Ghat, meet by trip guide who will give necessary safety instructions prior to rafting. In the meantime the remaining staff will take care of the luggage and sort them into the raft and other part by road to the camp spot for the day, which will be Barabot for the first Night.
The first day is and unhurried tempo yet the current frequency is strong to drift us all the way except for the few tricky turns as we float through. Later in the afternoon we stop Burundi entoute to have lunch break for about an hour. After lunch we float through some continuous moderate rapids, generally graded class 3 at the climax volume frequency but subside during dry season. We float along viewing the river birds till we come to a stop at Barabot beach for the night camping.
Dinner and overnight at camp in Barabot.
Day 02: 02nd Day rafting in the Trishuli River.
After breakfast we pack up and continue down river float again. The first half afternoon is another leisurely, scenic tempo and gradually we begin to encounter few interesting rapids that those are technical and exciting till we come to the confluence of another river, the Buri Gandaki River. The Trishuli River is wider and deeper from hence onward and increases the volume prevailing more rapids and current frequency out of which the Tin Devi rapids stands en route. It is graded class 4 depending on the season but its class 2 with dry season. The ever going continuous rapid heads on but we will be camp in at Beni Ghat for the night and enjoy the evening.
Dinner and overnight at camp in Beni Ghat.
Day 03: 03rd Day rafting in the Trishuli River.
Our third day continues with another new day on the river and high spirit, for we will be hitting more thrilling rapids and unique changes of the landscapes to view. The rapids are class 4 to 7, but at the moment it is class 4, yet technical as we shoot through the Up-set rapid. During the high volume this rapid is more technical and tough to maneuvering from the drops and holes as we can witness after we get by. We will be stopping just after the Up –set rapid for the lunch break where there is a wide sandy beach to relax after the muscle through. Soon after the break we raft through another exciting rapid known as Surprise. It is due to the sudden drop which causes huge hydraulic suction momentum should the raft go by, with the volume water during high volume.
Dinner and overnight at camp in Fishling.
Day 04: 04th Day rafting in the Trishuli River.
It day start with a steady float all the way passing by the Mugling confluence made by the Marsyangdi River at this point. The Mugling rapid is another exciting rapid as the float continue on, then we have another encounter with the Double Decker which also classed as 3 but at this moment it may be just a casual rapid. The steady continuous rapid drags we with the changes of the landscape that differs from the previous days and we will find us into a gorge today at Simaltar for the night. The campsite has a natural water falls called “Rainbow Falls” which is safe to take bath under it or just wander around.
Dinner and overnight at camp in Simaltar.
Day 05: Final Day in the Trishuli River.
After breakfast, we continue rafting again drifting with the strong current frequencies passing another confluence where the Seti River joins into the main Trishuli River. The steady going eventually takes us to another exciting rapid called “Coffee Pot” (Whirlpool section) that could really give heart thumping moment during the high water. Stop at put-out point at Jugedi where we end our rafting trip with lunch. After lunch deflate the raft and pack-up luggage orderly to take them to the coach pick up point and drive back to Kathmandu via Prithwi Highway, which takes another 5 hours. Upon arrival check in hotel for refreshment and much deserved rest.
