Day-to-Day Itinerary

  • Day 01:
    Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport the guest will be received and transfered to the hotel.
    Evening: a short briefing about the trek.
    Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
  • Day 02:
    After breakfast drive to Pokhara. After reaching Pokhara, check in at a lodge. After refreshing, one can enjoy the evening by boating on the Phewa Lake.
    Overnight at the Resort in Pokhara.
  • Day 03:
    Drive to Nayapul and trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m).
    After breakfast, drive towards Nayapul (1 ½ hour drive). Upon arrival, trek down to the river for 10 minutes and cross the new suspension bridge, thus the name Naya Pul (new bridge). Start to trek to Tikhedhunga 3 hour.

  • Day 04:
    Trek to Ghorepani (2750m).
    After breakfast, we have a full day uphill trek through Brahmins, Chettris, Gurungs and Magars villages. Trek duration 6 hour.

  • Day 05:
    Trek to Tadapani (2590m).
    Early pre-dawn wake up call. It is time to climb up to the Pun Hill 3290m. to view the magnificent sunrise. The views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range is truly magnificent and guests may enjoy a cup of tea / coffee at the summit while viewing the sunrise. Trek duration 5 hours.

  • Day 06:
    Trek to Chhomrong (2170m).
    We trek through the village and at the end of the village trail junction: there are two paths. One goes steeply down in the direction of the Modi khola towards the Ghandrung village. From here, it is another 30 minutes of climbing to the settlement of Jhinu Danda (1760m), which has a few comfortable looking lodges and many Tibetan traders selling trinkets to trekkers.

    After lunch, the climb to Chhomrong is a steep one with an average slope of 30 degrees incline. The trail is on a barren hillside making shelter from the sun difficult. Trek duration 6 hours.

  • Day 07:
    Trek to Himalaya hotel (2920m).
    Go down till the suspension bridge, which spans the Chhomrong khola cross and then climb up the opposite side for about 30 minutes until we reach the hamlet of Sinuwa. Trek duration 5 hours.

  • Day 08:
    Trek to Machhapuchhare base camp (3700m)
    The trek continues through the middle of the forest, going up and down following the flow of the rivers, until the last stretch where a steep path leads to Hinkui cave (3139m).Walking from Deorali to Bagar (3300m) takes about fifty minutes. Instead of lush vegetation, only bushes and tall grasses survive. It is a good place to take a lunch break. The next stop, the base camp of Machhapuchhare, is about two hours away. Machhapuchhare or “Fishtail’, has been thus named because of its twin summits resembling a twitched fishtail. Trek duration 5 hours.

  • Day 09:
    Trek to Annapurna base camp (4130m).
    To enjoy the magnificent sunrise over the Sanctuary one has to go to the Annapurna base camp (ABC), which is only two hours away. A little further, the path leads to a small hill, which is the best point to view the entire panorama of the sanctuary.

  • Day 10:
    Backtrack to Macchapuchre base camp.

  • Day 11:
    Backtrack to Himalaya hotel – Trek duration 4 hrs.

  • Day 12:
    Backtrack to Chhomrong – Trek duration 5 hrs.

  • Day 13:
    Trek to Landrung (1699m)
    After breakfast, visit the Annapurna conservation area project office to register and continue on the trek via Modi River. Trek duration 4 hours.

  • Day 14:
    Trek to Dhampus and Drive to Pokhara.
    The day's course begins with a gradual descent passing through the village of Dhampus and down to Phedi. Upon arrival at Phedi board the waiting vehicle and drive to Pokhara.

  • Day 15:
    Drive back to Kathmandu.
    After breakfast, the guests are escorted back to Kathmandu for 7 hours along the Prithivi highway. It is more scenic, quicker, as the highway is well maintained. We recommend stopping for a lunch at the River Side Spring Resort for a typical Nepali Thali Lunch.
    Evening: Farewell dinner hosted by Himalayan Holidays.

  • Day 16:
    Sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley.
    After breakfast, board the waiting vehicle and the professional English-speaking guide will take you for a daylong sightseeing tour of Kathmandu and Patan city.

  • Day 17:
    Transfer to airport for final departure.
