Day-to-Day Itinerary

• Day 01:
  Upon arrival at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International airport the guest will be received and transfered to the hotel.
  Evening: a short briefing about the trek.
  Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
• Day 02:
  Fly to Lukla and start trek to Phakding (2652m).
  After early wake up, call transfer to the Kathmandu airport for the flight to Lukla (2880 m.). This 30-minutes flight provides a magnificent entry to the trek. It highlights the snowline of the Himalayan Range in the north and the rugged landing at the Lukla airport, which is said to be one of the most spectacular flights in the world.

  Upon arrival, re-assemble the equipment for distributing to the Porters. The guests are welcome to explore this bustling town on top of a hill with rows of houses, hotels and shops lining both sides of cobbled street.

  The trek starts by following the trail leading to the northwest direction through the narrow street, which immediately descends from the end of the village on a trail through the open hillside. The trail is well defined and there are many shops and lodges catering to the trekkers. The trek this day is a very easy one and ultimately descends to the river at Phakding (2652m). Lunch at Phakding and spend a relaxing afternoon acclimatizing around the Phakding Village area.

• Day 03:
  Trek to Namche Bazaar (3447m).
  Leave the main village, and follow the trail on the left bank of the Dudh Kosi River. It is a pleasant walk for the first half of the day as one passes through agricultural countryside, small wayside villages and a monastery. Just before lunch, there is a steep climb of about 20 minutes to arrive at Monjo for Lunch.After lunch, trek up to the checkpost to get the permits checked and enter the Sagarmatha National Park. Descend for 10 minutes and then cross a suspension bridge to arrive at Jorsale (2800m). Pass through several small villages and beautiful pine forest. This is a busy trail with plenty of human interest. Our first good views are of the west ridge of Kusum Kangru (6339m). Follow the Dudh Kosi River, cross a rickety suspension bridge, which is in a dilapidated condition, and then slowly climb up a very steep trail to Namche Bazaar. Near half waypoint, we enjoy our first views of the big three Mt. Everest (8848m), Nuptse (7879m) and Lhotse (8383m). The climb is for nearly 3 hours as one gain in altitude breathing gets difficult due to rarified air. Arrive at a gate with a sign reading, "Welcome to Namche Bazaar" but it is very misleading as it takes another 20 minutes to arrive at the main town. We camp in the heart of the Namche Bazaar (3447 m). This prosperous town is the largest in Khumbu. Mt. Thamserku (6648 m) and Kwangde Ri (6624 m) loom along in the east and west of the village. The sacred mountain Khumbila (5707 m) dominates the skyline along the west. Duration of trek- 6 hours.
  Dinner and overnight at Namche Bazaar.
• Day 04:
  Side trip to Syangboche and descend down to Namche Bazaar.
  Dinner and overnight at Namche Bazaar.
• Day 05:
  Descend to Lukla.
  A very long days walk can also be made to Lukla but it is recommended to take an extra day to get there. From Namche, head to the end of the village and then immediately start to descend to the river. If going up tough then it is equally hard to get the footing and walk down hill. Head along the banks of the river and then further descend to Monjo for lunch. It is interesting to watch others starting enthusiastically on the trek ahead as we head down to Lukla.
  Dinner and overnight at Lukla.
• Day 06:
  Fly back to Kathmandu from Lukla.
  Early in the morning, transfer to the Lukla airport for a 30-minutes flight to Kathmandu.
  Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
• Day 07:
  Sightseeing tour around Kathmandu.
  After breakfast, commence the sightseeing tour of Kathmandu city, Sywambhunath Stupa, Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath temple and Patan city.
  Evening: Farewell dinner at an authentic Nepali restaurant.
  Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
• Day 08:
  Transfers to airport for final departure.
